· For Sunday, July 5, York Region recorded no new fatalities and one new resolved outbreak

· The federal and provincial governments did not hold in-person announcements today

· Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam issued an update earlier today on COVID-19

o 105,317 confirmed cases with 66% now recovered

o 8,674 fatalities

o Over the past week, an average of 39,000 people were tested daily, with 1% testing positive

· York Region shares safe shopping tips as malls and other retailers re-open, including remaining vigilant and wearing a face mask or covering
