· Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam announced the release of the Public Health Agency of Canada’s COVID-19 guidance for schools Kindergarten to Grade 12 and reiterated school re-openings are top-of-mind

· Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland responded to the United States announcement to impose a 10% tariff on imports of raw Canadian aluminum at a Toronto news conference

PROVINCIAL

· Premier Doug Ford stated he is confident in the measures in place to keep students safe, which includes staff wearing masks, frequent cleaning, screening children and staff, maintaining records and ensuring frequent handwashing and hygiene

· Thanks to the historic $19 billion agreement with the federal government, with $7 billion for Ontario, the province is investing $234 million to help child care providers safely re-open

o Premier Ford reiterated the need to keep Canada’s Wonderland closed for the time being, following the advice of health experts who are not comfortable re-opening the park at this time
