  • Her Excellency The Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, delivered the Speech from the Throne;
  • The Throne Speech focused on the current COVID-19 pandemic and outlined four key priority areas:
  1. Fighting the pandemic and saving lives
  2. Supporting people and businesses through the crisis
  3. Building back better to create a more resilient Canada
  4. Standing up for who we are as Canadians

 PROVINCIAL

  • Premier Ford and Minister of Health Christine Elliott shared the next steps in the province’s comprehensive fall preparedness plan, which includes expanding COVID-19 testing to select pharmacies across the province;

  • York Region Public Health has issued a public notice relating to a COVID-19 exposure on two YRT routes on Tuesday, September 15, 2020
