Federal officials provided an update on the procurement of PPE, vaccines and rapid test kits from domestic and international manufactures and supplies;

PROVINCIAL

The Ontario government will release its 2020 Budget on Thursday, November 5, 2020 that will focus on: Health and safety during the pandemic.Providing supports to families, workers and employers. Future growth, renewal and economic recovery;

YORK REGION

City of Toronto Mayor John Tory released a statement on behalf of the Mayors and Chairs in support of public health officials providing a safe path forward for businesses; the statement can be read on Facebook and Twitter.

In Dr. Kurji’s weekly video update he discusses the importance of limiting social contact with people outside of our households and how infections spread over the Thanksgiving weekend because public health guidelines were not followed. York Region Public Health issued the following public notices: October 24 – One confirmed case of COVID-19 riding York Region Transit  (YRT) on October 15, 16 and 17, 2020. October 25 – 16 confirmed and probable cases linked to family gathering in the City of Vaughan. The daily COVID-19 Council Update now includes the 7-day average daily case numbers, new hospitalizations and positivity rate (positivity rate refers to the percentage of positive COVID-19 tests among all individuals being tested for COVID-19)
