Following a virtual meeting with policy leaders of the European Union, Prime Minister Trudeau participated in a joint media videoconference;

PROVINCIAL

New provincial projections for COVID-19 released today suggest the growth of COVID-19 is slowing; however estimates project a steady number of cases between 800 and 1,200 a day;

Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), with the support of the Ontario government, launched a new Ontario Made Consumer Directory on SupportOntarioMade.ca; the guide will make it easier for shoppers to find made-in-Ontario products while supporting local businesses and manufacturers in response to concerns from our communities and businesses

YORK REGION

York Region Public Health has developed a task force to review feedback and look at measures which could allow businesses, including restaurants and health centres, to safely re-open following the current 28-day Modified Stage 2 timeframe with approval from the Ontario government;

Early findings of the task force will be shared with members of Regional Council on Thursday, November 5, 2020.

York Region Public Health issued a Public Notice in regards to 44 confirmed cases of COVID-19 linked to large wedding in Vaughan.

York Region will be provided with additional resources from the province; up to 48 contact tracers will assist with the Region’s COVID-19 response. As part of its ‘Safe and Spooktacular Halloween’ campaign, York Region has engaged in a digital takeover of yorkregion.com
