PROVINCIAL

Premier Ford announced details of a provincial long-term care staffing plan;

The Ontario government is providing $77 million to help people who were laid off due to COVID-19 find in-demand jobs in their communities.

The Ontario government is investing $147 million to expand mental health and addictions supports and address capacity issues in response to COVID-19.

The Ministry of Education advised Ontario school boards to prepare for remote learning in January, if necessary.

YORK REGION

Unfortunately, York Region reported a record high 311 COVID-19 cases today.

In observance of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, York Region will not update its york.ca/covid19 dashboard nor issue a 5 p.m. COVID-19 update on Friday, December 25, 2020 and Friday, January 1, 2021.

York Region Public Health issued a Public Notice regarding 11 confirmed COVID-19 cases linked to a private home birthday party in City of Vaughan.

A statement to honour the 329 York Region residents who have lost their lives to COVID-19 was issued and shared on Facebook and Twitter.
