FEDERAL

Health Canada authorized the COVID-19 vaccines manufactured by AstraZeneca and the Serum Institute of India’s version of the AstraZeneca vaccine; the vaccines are administered as a two-dose regimen and can be kept refrigerated from 2˚ to 8˚C for at least six months.

PROVINCIAL

Ontario activated an emergency brake in Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit; effective Monday, March 1, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. they will move to Grey-Lockdown Zone; nine public health regions will move to new levels in the COVID-19 Response Framework on Monday Nine Public Health Regions Moving to New Levels in the COVID-19 Response Framework.

Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce announced regulatory amendments to support working families and improve the child care and early years sector;

YORK REGION

Effective Monday, March 1, 2021 beginning at 8 a.m. York Region residents age 80 years and older (born in 1941 or earlier) can book an appointment for their COVID-19 vaccination by visiting york.ca/COVID19Vaccine

York Region Public Health issued a Public Notice for a COVID-19 workplace outbreak at Mobile Climate Control located in the City of Vaughan; 53 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been identified

ASYMPTOMATIC SCHOOL TESTING

Symptomatic and asymptomatic voluntary screening in York Region schools is taking place in Vaughan today: George Bailey Public School,9600 Keele Street, Maple, ON. Every Friday, until Friday, March 19 from 2 to 4 p.m.: Individuals with symptoms of COVID-19 or close contacts of a confirmed case 4:30 to 8 p.m.: Individuals with no known exposure or COVID-19 symptoms.
