Prime Minister Trudeau did not address Canadians today

PROVINCIAL

The Minister began his address by expressing gratitude to the faculty of all educational
institutions, and highlighted the effort they undertook to provide online courses
 Announced a pilot program for re-opening post-secondary institutions;
o from July 2 to August 31 for ‘academically stranded’ students needing to finish in-lab or
in-person practicums
o health and safety measures must be followed
o will have peer-to-peer monitoring component
 In addition to lessons learned and best practices from this pilot program, Minister Romano said they will do full consultations over the summer to develop strategies for the broader re-opening in September
 The Minister ended his remarks by saying Ontario has the most advanced research sectors in the world – never again will the people of Ontario fail to reap all of the benefits they can through breakthroughs in research that happens in Ontario, and paid for by Ontario taxpayers
