FEDERAL

The federal government shared the latest modelling projections indicating without a sufficient reduction in contact rates, Canada will have 20,000 daily cases by the end of December;

PROVINCIAL

Ontario has surpassed 100,000 COVID-19 cases.

Premier Ford announced York Region will remain in Red-Control zone of the COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open, Toronto and Peel Region will enter Grey-Lockdown zone as of 12:01 a.m. on Monday, November 23.

The province has committed $600 million to support businesses affected by closures or restricted service in Red-Control and Grey-Lockdown zones. York Region business owners impacted by recent public health measures can apply for support at ontario.ca/covidsupport. The Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, has extended all orders under the Reopening Ontario Act until December 21, 2020. The province is moving forward with 29 new long-term care projects, a total of 3,000 new and upgraded long-term care spaces will be added across the province.

York Region Public Health issued a public notice of a cluster of COVID-19 cases related to fitness classes held at a fitness studio in the Town of Aurora.
