FEDERAL

Federal health officials provided a COVID-19 vaccine update; Prime Minister Trudeau participated in a year-end interview with Breakfast Television;

PROVINCIAL

The Ontario government has allocated an additional $695 million to provide financial relief for municipalities through the Safe Restart Agreement;

YORK REGION

A statement on the $9.92 million funding York Region will receive was shared on york.ca and posted to Facebook and Twitter Ontario launched a new “Support Local” marketing campaign.

Investments from York Region and the federal government will bring high-speed internet to Georgina Island and Udora.

York Region COVID-19 enforcement officers visited 885 businesses and laid 71 charges between Monday, December 7 and Sunday, December 13; details were shared on the Enforcing COVID-19 Regulations web page and on Facebook and Twitter.

Asymptomatic testing in York Region schools takes place in Aurora (December 16) and Richmond Hill (December 17); learn more at york.ca/safeatschool As a result of data quality activities, the number of patients in York Region hospital ICUs reflected in today’s dashboard increased from 8 to 20; these data quality activities will be completed on a weekly basis moving forward.
